Attorney O’Connor was awarded a Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Western New England College School of Law, graduating second in her class. During law school, she served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Western New England Law Review. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Connecticut, cum laude. In addition to being a Chapter 7 Panel Trustee for the District of Connecticut, Attorney O’Connor is also an adjunct professor at Elms College in Chicopee, Massachusetts, where she teaches Advanced Legal Research and Writing.
Attorney O’Connor concentrates her practice in commercial and consumer bankruptcy and insolvency matters. She has successfully represented debtors, creditors, and trustees in reorganization, liquidation and litigation cases in Massachusetts and Connecticut. Prior to joining the firm, Attorney O’Connor was a shareholder at Hendel, Collins & O’Connor, P.C. She also served as a law clerk to the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Massachusetts.
Attorney O’Connor has been admitted to practice law the Courts of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the State of Connecticut, the U.S. District Court for the Districts of Massachusetts and Connecticut and the First Circuit Court of Appeals. Attorney O’Connor is a member of several professional organizations including the Hampden County Bar Association and the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation.
Attorney O’Connor was recently named to the Board of Directors for The National Conference for Community and Justice (NCCJ), a non-profit human relations organization. She serves on the Diversity Task Force and Pro Bono Committee for the Massachusetts Bankruptcy Court and volunteers for the M. Ellen Carpenter Financial Literacy Program, providing basic financial literacy information for high school students.
Attorney O’Connor is regularly called upon to serve as a panelist, lecturer and contributing author regarding various insolvency law matters. She has published numerous articles and a chapter on the impact of bankruptcy on the landlord-tenant relationship.
